Unlimited Division
The Unlimited Equipment Division has been established to allow inclusion of new designs, materials and experimental powerlifting personal equipment in Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate.
All RPS rules of lift performance will be maintained.
First and foremost the use of the equipment must be safe for the lifter and the spotters. If the judges feel at anytime the lifter has not shown control and command of the weight attempted, they have the authority to deny any remaining attempts.
All safety precautions must be in effect: safety straps/chains on monolifts and face savers on benches. Should the platform bench provided not have a catch device and the attempted weight heavier than safely spotted by two side spotters, then the lifter must provide their own spotting team who must also sign waivers.
Unlimited Equipment Division Classes
The Unlimited Equipment Division will be scored at the meet directors discretion and recorded only in Professional classes and segregated further by gender, weight and age divisions. Teens wishing to enter this division must do so under Junior as Professionals are not allowed in the Teen age divisions.
Records and rankings will be kept for each of the eligible divisions.
Personal Equipment Eligibility
The equipment used must be constructed to the definition of suits and briefs for squat and the definition of shirt for bench.
Suits are defined as having straps that are over the shoulder and legs that extend from the body of the garment.
Briefs do not have straps and may or may not have legs.
Shirts are defined as sleeves that encompass the upper arm attached to a torso covering or chest plate. Shirts must also have side and shoulder fabric. The shirt cannot just be comprised of bands secured with velcro.
All items, regardless of material, must be constructed to be a unified garment that is in contact with the lifter throughout the performance of the lift. All item dimensions must meet the established multi ply personal equipment measurements.
Construction material is unlimited and maximum Number of Layers for this Division is 3 in total. The maximum thickness of seams, hems, collars and binding is 1 inch.
List of known equipment rulings
It has been determined by the advisory committee that the “Bench Daddy” shirt is not legal in the unlimited divisions if it does not have sleeves that are attached to a chest plate, and if there are two layers of fabric, that they are not sewn together completely. (1-21-20)
